Muscle therapy that goes deep
Everyday life leaves its mark on the body. Long days at a screen, training, stress and strain over time create tension the body cannot always release on its own.
What is muscle therapy, and why does it work?
Muscle therapy combines deep tissue massage with targeted stretching and isolated treatment of muscle groups. The aim is to get to the core of the problem, not just to dampen the symptoms.
Where regular massage is often about relaxation and wellbeing, muscle therapy goes deeper. Through systematic work with muscles, connective tissue and joints, the treatment can release locked tension, correct muscular imbalances and give you natural mobility back.
In short: muscle therapy treats the cause of your complaints, not just the pain you feel right now.
Who is muscle therapy for?
Muscle therapy suits most people with muscular complaints, whether they are acute or have built up over time.
Stiff neck and shoulders
Often caused by long days in front of a screen, stress or poor loading.
Lower back and pelvis
One of the most common causes of reduced quality of life. The cause often sits in the hip and glutes, not only in the back.
Tension headaches
Usually start in tight muscles in the neck and jaw.
Sports injuries and overload
From overtrained muscles to tendinitis and overuse injuries.
Imbalances in hips and back
Can cause pain in completely different parts of the body, such as the knee, groin or neck.
Disc problems and joint pain
Targeted stretching and muscle treatment can help relieve pain and improve function.
Stiffness and reduced mobility
When everyday life has settled in the body and movement feels heavy.
What a treatment looks like
-
Conversation and assessment
We start with a short conversation where you tell me about your complaints, your lifestyle and what you want to achieve. That lets me adapt the treatment to you.
-
Thorough treatment
Based on the assessment, I use deep tissue massage, targeted stretching and isolated treatment of the muscle groups that need it most. I adjust as I go, depending on how your body responds.
-
Advice and follow-up
After the treatment you get concrete advice on what you can do yourself between sessions: simple exercises, stretches or small changes in daily life that strengthen the effect.

A short clip from the treatment room. A calm pace, steady hands and full attention on your body.
What makes the treatment different
Bergen has many skilled therapists. This is what I focus on.
A holistic approach
With a master’s degree in philosophy and more than 30 years of yoga and meditation practice, I see the body as more than muscles and joints. Stress, breathing and movement patterns affect the body as much as physical strain.
Professional breadth
I am a trained muscle therapist, and I also studied movement science at the Academy of Physical Education in Katowice. That gives a deeper understanding of anatomy, physiology and how the body moves.
Personal adaptation
No two bodies are alike, and no two treatments should be either. I listen to your body and adjust technique and intensity as we go.
Calm surroundings
Treatment takes place at ABC-Klinikken in Bergen city centre, a place where you can drop your shoulders and give yourself time to recover.
When should you see a doctor first?
Muscle therapy is safe for most people, but some symptoms should always be examined by a doctor before treatment:
- Pain after a fall, an accident or a heavy blow
- Numbness, paralysis or loss of strength in the arms or legs
- Pain together with fever or unexplained weight loss
- Sudden, severe pain with no known cause
- Problems controlling your bladder or bowels
If you are unsure, feel free to call me before you book. We will work it out together.
